Objectives

Promote the dissemination of the EU-MPC-MS S&T cooperation activities at all levels and by all means, in particular raising awareness of the general public. Creation of dissemination material. These activities should be organized in strong connection with the dissemination activities of the DG RTD and the Commission services in the MPC.

This WP will establish a direct link with the activities of the IP-MPC to provide them with materials, and receive demands of elaborated information, targeted guides for applicants and other materials. Moreover, this WP will deal with the editing and publication of the materials produced in the different WP. Within this WP the impact of the MIRA Project will be monitored.

Description

This WP takes into account the possible duplicity of activities with the BILAT Projects in those countries where these projects are being implemented, notably the organisation of Public Events about activities of the FP7.

Moreover, the working material produced in the Training Workshop should be available for the IP and/or NCP in order to support the activities of BILATS or other national training activities. This WP should revise and produce this material in the appropriate languages. The Impact of MIRA is a high concern of the entire project. In this sense, Task 3 will be redrafted to incorporate an activity of monitoring MIRA impact at national or international level.

The first task is the Creation of dissemination material to be used in all the MPC on the opportunities of the FP7 directed to the academy and the industrial sector, specially the SME (in English, French and Arabic). Feeding of the MIRA PORTAL on EU-MPC S&T Cooperation and call s for proposals.

The second task is the Information public events in the MPC not covered by BILATS Projects (Algeria, Lebanon, Palestine, Syria, Bosnia and Herzegovina and Montenegro. The activity in Syria will be covered by the syrian budget handeled by P.1) on the content and opportunities of FP7. In particular there should be special attention toward SICA (Special International Cooperation Actions) topics and the identification and dissemination of opportunities for mobility. This action should be done in collaboration with WP3.

The third task are the Dissemination activities of DG RTD to the MPC in strong connection with the Information Points and WP1. Networking of MIRA during relevant EU/MPC international conferences or fora to raise awareness of MIRA. Monitoring the MIRA Impact in media, other initiatives and the political fora.

The fourth

task is about Producing Targeted Guides for Applicants to participate in FP7.

The fifth task is the Edition and dissemination of the materials produced in the different WP.

The sixth task is the Dissemination Material to the MPC SMEs informing of the opportunities offered by the FP.

The seventh task is Supporting the Libyan participation in the MPC cooperation in S&T and the possible creation of and Libyan Information Points.

The eighth task are the "Brokerage Events":
With regard to the objective to enhance the FP participation of the MPC, brokerage events will be organised; preferably due to budget restraints these should be an integrated part of the EMIS Fora. This will be implemented by a new approach for MIRA which integrates successful and non-successful applicants as well as evaluators of previous calls. A structured dialogue complemented by presentations and/or poster sessions should be applied to realise a successful match-making.

In addition, for advanced project drafts 1-2 "pre-checks" of FP (SICA) proposals will be organised in order to refine and to upgrade them and by this to enhance the
participation of EMIS actors in FP. Proposals for a specific topic/SICA call should be handed in six weeks before deadline and would be pre-evaluated by former evaluators and experts- similar to a jury.

The result of this pre-evaluation will be discussed between a "jury" and the applicant (one-to-one) during a meeting.

The brokerage event will be realised in connection with the International Conference on "Mediterranean Countries and EU opportunities", gathering national political representatives of Med Countries concerned to enhance awareness of the importance to join EU programmes and the EMIS Fora. All these activity p.m. are coordinated by WP3 Task 8.

NOTE: WP6 dissemination Tasks will use the new ICT tools provided by the Organizational Knowledge Management System (O-KMS; please, see WP1 description). In that sense, updated links and RSS channels with ERAWATCH, Cordis WIRE, BILAT, INCONTACT, etc.… specially through "Calls for Cooperation" and similar sections (Relevant and Upcoming Events & News) will be provided, mostly based on the design of specific "smart-dedicated portlets" technologies.

This Platform scheme will be reinforced by means of the inclusion of interactive tools such as sensible information maps, semantically-oriented digital libraries, etc. where the knowledge products (dedicated leaflets, pamphlets, as well as multimedia resources, etc.) related to dissemination activities will be put in value by their availability through the Public O-KMS/Website Platform Areas. A follow up of the impact of MIRA (including Internet access) is a relevant activity of this WP6.
