Ecotechnologies for Wastewater Treatment 2012 International Conference, in Santiago de Compostela, Spain, next June 2012.
In this Conference, wastewater treatment will be faced from a global
approach, meaning that issues about new processes and technologies will
be considered together with those related to emissions, economy and
environmental analysis in an integrated perspective. The objective of
the Conference is to provide a common place for experts in different
fields of knowledge, including engineers, life scientists, economists
and policy makers, to present their most recent technological and
scientific outcomes. The Conference will serve as platform for exchange
of experience and know-how among professionals from academia, industry
and public administrations.
With more than five centuries of tradition, University of Santiago de
Compostela is located in Galicia, the western Autonomous Community of
Spain. The majestic Cathedral of Santiago de Compostela is the final
destiny of the Saint James Pilgrims’ way. Conference attendees can enjoy
historical sightseeing through the city, which was recognised by 21
awards since 1985 from national and international organisations,
including the mention of World Heritage City from UNESCO in 1985 and of
European City of Culture in the year 2000. Galician gastronomy is known
for the variety and quality of its ingredients, from the land and the
sea, ranging from the most traditional to the most innovative cuisine.
This event is also conceived as the closing Conference of the
NOVEDAR_Consolider project “Conception of Sewage Treatment Plant (STP)
of the XXI Century". In the frame of the conference the most recent
works under development to face the new challenges to approach the
future of wastewater treatment are intended to be presented.
