One of the main objectives of MIRA is to improve the participation of the Mediterranean Partner Countries (MPCs) in the FP7 by increasing their capacities and understanding of the technical and administrative issues related to the FP7 projects.
MIRA aims also to provide support to the newly developed Information Points (IPs), whom are working to improve the participation of the MPCs in the FP7. Special attention has been devoted to the training of experts from countries without a signed S&T Agreement, such as Palestine and Libya.
Under this objective, MIRA is carrying out the following initiatives:
- Evaluation of the IP structures: activities, difficulties and achievements.

- Support to the creation of Information Points in Palestine - Training Seminar for the FP7 IPs from Palestine;
- Train officers of the MPCs Information Points on specific issues related to the setting and evolution of the FP7:

- Train officers in auditing FP7 projects: Training Seminar and creation of a network of MPC auditors specialized in EU research project auditing
Furthermore, and under this objective, MIRA has established strong links with other important Mediterranean Initiatives, such as the BILAT projects. In this sense, one of the fruits of this cooperation will be the organization of the International Conference on Mediterranean Countries and EU opportunities.
Finally, and also under this objective, other two important initiatives will be envisaged before the end of the project:
