MPC-EU Cooperation Programme Managers Meeting for a Mediterranean Era-Net (Plus) (Antalya, Turkey, from 2011-11-04 09:30 to 2011-11-04 18:00) —

The broad purpose of this meeting is to facilitate synergies and complementarities in bilateral and multilateral cooperation actions between MPC and the EU Member States and FP7 Associated Countries. Since an ERA-NET (Plus) tool fits very well to this broad purpose, the meeting, in particular, aims at promoting a Mediterranean ERA-NET (Plus) among the programme owners and managers in MPC – EU cooperation. The specific objectives of this meeting are as follows. - To assess the common interest for a possible ERA-NET (Plus) initiative among the programme managers - To identify potential partners in such an initiative within the MPC and the EU - To identify topics of interest for a potential ERA-NET (Plus)

Capacity Building for MPCs to improve participation in FP projects (CIHEAM, Bari, Italy, from 2011-10-26 08:00 to 2011-10-28 18:00) —

Organization of a Seminar on writing and management of FP7 projects for local scientist and administrative officers, who will support the management of FP projects in their institution in order to favor the appearance of projects leaders in the MPC.

Joint EC-EIB-CMI training workshop for Mediterranean Research Centers (Center for Mediterranean Integration, Marseille, from 2011-10-03 08:00 to 2011-10-06 20:00) —

This workshop is based on a joint collaboration between the European Investment Bank (IT1 Program), the Centre of Marseille for the Mediterranean Integration (CMI) and the DG Research and Innovation of the European Commission, aiming at fostering innovative practices in the Mediterranean region.

Info Day on the 2012 Call for Proposals on Activities of International Cooperation of the Capacities Programme (Brussels, from 2011-07-27 08:00 to 2011-07-27 18:00) —

 

RDI Workshop on SSH (El Gouna, Red Sea Governorate, Egypt, from 2011-07-06 08:00 to 2011-07-07 20:00) —

The workshop will act as a discussion platform to structure the dialogue between the EU-MPC in the socio-economic sciences and humanities aiming at identifying research areas/topics of mutual interest that would pave the way for stronger research cooperation in the SSH domain. This workshop aims at presenting state of the indicators reflections of the Observatory of S&T scientific cooperation of MIRA and of the Lebanese Observatory of Research, Development and Innovation (LORDI), under the auspices of the National Council for Scientific Research, CNRS - Lebanon.

The ASREN founder event will be the opportunity to publicly launch the Arab States Research and Education Network (ASREN), an association of the Arab region’s National Research and Education Networks (NRENs) and other Research and Education strategic partners. ASREN will enable Pan-Arab collaborative research and education projects and activities, contribute to boost the scientific research, innovation and education levels in the Arab countries by uplifting efficiency and productivity of our research and education communities. it will be held under the patronage of the Secretary General of the League of Arab States.

Commission seeks third country opinions on EU external action after 2013 (, from 2010-11-17 00:00 to 2011-01-31 00:00) —

PUBLIC CONSULTATION A public consultation on funding for EU external action after 2013 has been published by the European Commission. Contributions are sought from citizens, organisations and public authorities in third countries, as well as Europe. The objective of the Commission consultation is to gather ideas and opinions on the future of financial instruments that the EU has at its disposal to fulfil its worldwide responsibilities. According to the European Commission, responses are requested on a range of issues, including the added value of EU financial intervention in several areas, options for new forms of cooperation and delivery mechanisms with partner countries, as well as the efficiency, impact and visibility of EU external cooperation. The online consultation, which is open to all stakeholders, is designed to prepare the ground for Commission legislative proposals to be presented in 2011 on the financial perspectives after 2013. The consultation, which can be completed online on the Commission’s web portal Interactive Policy-Making, runs until 31 January 2011. The Commission emphasises that the online questionnaire must be completed in one session, as it is not possible to save comments and responses entered, and return to them later. The questionnaire is available in English and will shortly be available in French, German, Spanish, Italian, and Portuguese.
